Friendly staff, great value and location, very clean
the terrasse with sea vieuw
some noisy neighbours in room next mine
The room was quite comfortable but situated over the trade area so we were woke up both nights by the noise from deliveries and emptying the rubbish bins not a holiday hotel
Located in a residential area there were no "holiday amenities" such as bars restaurants other than a burger king,we found no one in the hotel except on the last day that could speak english we were told the wrong menu ie very limited choice and we both felt as if we were an inconveniance.the pool was extremely cold and no one used it because of this.we discovered (when it was to late) that just a few minutes away heading towards Benidorm there were restaurants and bars which would have suited us just fine, but we wernt told. When asked just "catch the 22 bus town"was the eventual reply.if you ask for a room with a sea view you get one over the area for wheelie bins which are emptied eary morn
Excellent location in the very centre of the city.
The downside of the central location-you don´t get much sleep, the nights are very noisy.
Staff very polite, but very very noisy did not sleep for 2 days therefore checked out a day earlier than i wanted and booked into a different hotel. would not stay there again.
Friendliness of the personnel, good service, reasonable price. Well functioning local bus connections to the city center and the San Juan beach (we didn't have car of your own).
The nearby surroundings was not very inspiring. Long way to a proper beach.
Location. Gentleman running the restaurant and bar.
The service was very good and you were not pressured into all the other services that the hotel offered.
I couldn't honestly criticise the hotel in any aspect.
The rooms were always kept spotless with clean towels every day and loads of hot water for showers. Breakfasts were good but same every day. The breakfast waiter was very nice and helpful.
The dinner menu was quite fancy and not really suitable for children. Also they didnt start serving until 9.30pm I was there with my 8yr old neice and 5yr old nephew - room was a bit snug for 3 single beds but it was fine as we were out all day and beds were comfy. The walls we discovered were extremely thin. one night we were disturbed by a drunken couple in the next room. They had the tv on and were very noisy, after a long while i phoned reception, they were very quick to sort the problem. I should also mention, the kids were really looking forward to the swimming pool and we were sorely disappointed to find it freezing and in shade most of day so didnt heat up.
Cleanliness of your room and Comfort
Fantastic and friendly staff. The majority of our dealings were with Tony, a very nice chap. Nice relaxing atmosphere in Hotel
No Wi-fi. For me that was not important but could be for others I suppose
Hotel Mio Cid was perfectly located for a relaxing holiday on the outskirts of Alicante. It was one quick bus ride (no. 22) from the city with buses arriving at least every 20mins and was also a short walk from the local centre with a plenty of shops (including a supermarket), bars and cafes. Our spacious balcony had beautiful sea views and the room was a good size and well equip. The pool area was also a good size and very clean. The beach was a 2 minute walk away and was, in my opinion, nicer than the main beach in Alicante as it was less crowded. With a brilliant location, helpful staff, excellent value, and clean spacious rooms I would definitely recommend this hotel to others (especially the pizzas from room service!).
Difficult to find negatives about the hotel - if pushed would say walls were a bit thin but did not have a problem with this.
I would recommend this hotel, as it is family friendly, especially Tony who speaks many languages. The hotel cat Beny is friendly. The garden terrace is beautiful and overlooks the pool. All in all I will be going back for another short break later. From Alicante airport you get the C6 bus which is on the top floor into the town 2.70 euros and get off at the Melia Hotel bus stop, and wait at the bus stop to get the 22 bus to Burger King bus stop which is 1.40 Don`t be put off by alighting at burger king. The other bonus is that their is a good size fridge in your room.
The only thing I would comment on is that the climbing plants around the pool need watering.
I liked the location of this hotel , located in a quiet safe area however restaurants were within walking distance . The hotel restaurant itself was excellent with a great offer of three courses for €15 and food was delicious , Also restaurant staff were so nice and no problem for them to heat baby food for us . A few cafe/ bar places across the road . No 22 bus every 20 min taking you into alicante or playa de San Juan depending on which direction you go . A great Chinese restaurant was also about 10 min walk away called nan king , food was delicious and great value for money , overall an enjoyable experience and great value for money.
The only thing which would have suited us as we had an eight month old baby was an electric kettle in the room however restaurant staff were very accommodating of our needs.
Staff first class, facilities very good and location great for town visits but with out of centre peace and tranquillity.
